April is a pace-setting month for the year. We are all on the same page at this point, it is spring. Puckerbooty Phil has a lot of people under his influence of season duration forecasting abilities, but as April begins, even his fiercest doubters are likely to turn the page on Winter.
A baseball season that is only slightly behind schedule is very near. The timing of sports in 2022 sets up a fantastic week for many sports lovers. Final Four, Masters, Opening Day, all in a week, how can you not be excited.
The Mariners are set up to have an up and down year. Youth, a potential-filled lineup, and a budding rotation are all exciting, but the reality is there are a lot of question marks on the big league club and certain positions lack MLB ready depth. Sure we have arms that will start in the year in Tacoma like Kirby and Brash, but do we know who will be starting game 5 of the regular season? There are a few guys who can slot in, nobody I’m overly enthused about, but the real concern is what if a guy gets hurt?
Let’s not get ahead of ourselves and start poking holes in this roster, for the time being, let’s just be happy we have baseball back and the Mariners are on the rise as the A’s are selling off and the Astros’ window we’ve been emersed in, maybe closing. Correa to the Twins is going to be fun to watch, my concern this year is with the Rangers and Angels. We need to take care of the West, and the Astros traditionally beat upon us, especially in Texas.

J ran her first 10K this morning and we hit Waffle House after for the first time. The takeaway from the meal, subpar hashbrowns, but elite waffles, so the restaurant is aptly named.
